This is a totally different approach to Interior Design that is in keeping with modern trends and future needs in environmental design. Most Interior Design training concentrates on creating aesthetically pleasing spaces while Holistic Interior Design emphasises the importance of creating interiors that are in harmony with the individuals who will be using them. The role of our environment in our physical and mental well-being has for too long been ignored, so you will learn how to redress the balance and create healthy and uplifting environment using colour therapeutics, natural elements and environmentally friendly materials.

Practising designers will find this course allows them to use their talents in a new way and to offer their clients a more personalised service. With the growth in environmental health concerns there is also a growing demand backed by the government in the UK for advisory services in this field. No previous Interior Design training is needed although this course compliments and extends traditional Interior design study.

An HDI diploma will be awarded to students who obtain 70% or more in a self-administered examination and have satisfactorily completed a design project from a choice given at the end of the course. Diploma students can use the initials Dip. HDI (Holistic. Design) after their names and are given free full membership of HDI for one year and included on our International recommended practitioner’s list on our website. After a year’s work experience you can apply to join the British Society of Interior Designers.

The Holistic Design Institute is a UK registered training provider established in 1992 offering distance learning Diplomas using Colour and Design as a Healing Art.

Our specialist courses lead to an International Diplomas in various subjects including Holistic Interior Design, Healing Garden Design, Feng Shui practitioner, Transformative Therapy using Art and Music, Space Clearing and Harmonising and Colour Therapy for Interiors.

You can enrol anytime via our website and study via email or have your course notes on CD (or workbooks in the UK only). Although you study at home our courses have a lot of practical content and you will have an expert tutor.
