How can one assess the value of a work of art when buying, selling or insuring it? And what are the conservation and framing issues that should be considered? This course will examine the aesthetic, financial, and legal decisions that are necessary to consider in both starting and building a collection. Lectures will cover issues of art as an asset class, framing the contemporary, conservation and legal issues, and will provide the novice and experienced collector with fundamental knowledge about collecting in today’s contemporary market.
